of promotions and other events? Oracle® Demand Planning
rapidly improves supply chain performance by improving the
predictability of customer demand and enabling collaboration

OVERVIEW
Demand planning is more than forecasting. Demand planning
is the collaborative process of generating consensus among
all of the stakeholders. Sales, marketing, finance, production,
and customers all need to receive and provide information.
Oracle® Demand Planning provides a robust Internet-based
framework for developing collaborative demand plans and
forecasts. It is also the key to enabling more comprehensive
collaborative processes like a sales and operations planning
(S&OP) and collaborative planning, forecasting, and
replenishment (CPFR).
To improve
your demand planning process, you typically focus on three
key areas: achieving consensus, improving forecast accuracy,
and reducing planning process cycle time. Oracle® Demand
Planning provides a unique and complete tool set to improve
your demand management in all these areas.

Complete Visibility to all Sources of Demand in a Demand
Hub
The first challenge most organizations face in improving
their demand planning process is reconciliation of all sources
of demand data necessary to make informed decisions, for
example as part of a sales and operations planning process.
Sales, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing, and customers
all have important information to provide yet all of this
critical demand information is typically stored in disparate
informal systems or spreadsheets. Oracle® Demand Planning
enables you to easily bring together all of your critical
demand information into a central demand hub. It is open
and supports electronic communication via industry standard
formats: you can bring in external data, such as such as
point of sale data or economic indicators, using simple
flat-file transfer or direct entry via secured portals.
Internal data that originates from the Oracle E-Business
Suite, such as shipment history, bookings history, sales
forecasts, marketing events and promotions, and financial
plans are brought into the demand hub automatically.
