Oracle®
Inventory, a supply chain inventory management tool, increases
operational efficiencies through streamlining material movement
while providing tight material control. Oracle Inventory
is part of the Oracle E-Business Suite, an integrated set
of applications, which is designed to transform your business
to an e-business.
Agile
Manufacturing Through Mixed-Mode Manufacturing
Oracle Inventory contains the breadth and flexibility to
fully support mixed-mode manufacturing. Customers may manufacture
their products using the most efficient methods or techniques,
whether it be engineer-to-order, assemble-to-order, repetitive,
flow, or project manufacturing.
Increase Operational Efficiency
Oracle Inventory offers a number of features designed to
help improve efficiencies of material movement. Requisition
Move Orders enable material to be requested within a warehouse.
Pick Wave Move Orders allow sourcing details of where material
was picked for a customer order to be changed at pick confirm
or ship confirm if the product chosen by the picking rules
is not available or suitable for shipment. During high volume
periods, warehouse managers have additional visibility to
outstanding picking activities through Pick Wave Move Orders.
Appropriate documentation may be printed to accompany the
movement of material, if required.
Active
Alerts & Intelligent Messages give the appropriate people
notice to supply chain exceptions. Shortage Messages may
be used to expedite delivery of needed material to an area
with a shortage. For example, the application checks while
receiving material to see if the material received is needed
elsewhere in the organization and sends a real-time alert
to the person performing the receipt transaction. The receiver
may view all of the potential material shortages for this
item and take the appropriate action based on priorities
and business operations.
